Lawrence High senior pitcher Zoe Brewer struck out 11 and led the LHS softball team to a 2-1 victory over Shawnee Mission Northwest in the team’s season opener Wednesday at the Shawnee Mission Softball Complex.

Angelina Harjo and Morgan Husman drove in both runs for the Lions (1-0) in the sixth inning. Lawrence will play host to Shawnee Mission South at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
