Former Free State tennis standout Alexis Czapinski, a junior at Washburn University, was named the MIAA women’s tennis athlete of the week Monday, the third time she’s won the award this season.

Czapinski was selected as top player in back-to-back weeks. She posted a 4-0 record in singles and doubles last week against Fort Hays State and Nebraska-Kearney. This season she’s recorded a 20-3 record in singles and 17-4 record in doubles alongside teammate Logan Morrissey.
