Former Lawrence High state champion wrestler Alan Clothier, a redshirt freshman at Appalachian State, clinched a spot in the NCAA Championships last weekend.

Clothier, who wrestles at 184 pounds, secured an automatic bid by taking second place in the Southern Conference tournament. Leading his school to a SoCon title, Clothier improved his record to 28-9.

The NCAA Championships will begin on March 15 in Cleveland.
