KU signee nets silver at World U20 Championships

Kansas track and field signee Zach Bradford earned a silver medal at the IAAF World U20 Championships on Saturday in the men’s pole vault competition, representing the United States in Tampere, Finland.

Bradford, who will be a freshman next season, cleared 5.55 meters (18-2.5 feet) to take second place in the event, which marked a personal-best jump.

Bradford wasn’t the only Jayhawk to have success in Tampere. Earlier this week, freshman Alexandra Emilianov won the gold medal in the women’s discus competition with a mark of 57.89 meters (189-11 feet).
