KU signee advances to finals at IAAF World U20 Championships

Kansas track and field signee Zach Bradford qualified for the final of the men’s pole vault while representing the United States at the IAAF World U20 Championships in Tampere, Finland on Wednesday.

Bradford, who will be a freshman next year, passed on the first three heights of the day before clearing 5.20 meters (17-0.75 ft.) on his first and only attempt. His leap put him in a tie for second in the qualification round.

The final for the event is slated to take place Saturday.
