Lawrence High senior wrestler Melle Dye suffered his first loss of the season and took second place at the SEK Invitational on Saturday at Chanute.

Dye, who has a 20-1 record at 145 pounds, lost in the championship match to unbeaten Jake Beeson, of Ark City, by a 7-1 decision. Dye advanced to the finals with two wins.

The Lions only had three wrestlers at the tournament and took 13th in the team standings.
