Texas center Mo Bamba to sit out Monday’s game vs. Kansas

Texas forward Mohamed Bamba (4) rejects a shot from Kansas center Udoka Azubuike (35) during the first half on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017 at Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas.

Texas freshman center Mohamed Bamba will miss Monday night’s game against Kansas because of a sprained left toe he suffered last week, the school announced Monday afternoon.

Bamba, who is averaging 13.0 points, 10.6 rebounds and 3.8 blocks per game, sat out the entire second half of the Longhorns’ victory against Oklahoma State on Saturday. He suffered the toe injury in a loss to Kansas State last week.

When the Jayhawks played Texas in their Big 12 opener on Dec. 29, Bamba recorded 22 points, 15 rebounds and eight blocks in KU’s 92-86 victory.

Kansas will tip off against Texas at 8 p.m. Monday at Allen Fieldhouse.
