Sawyer Nickel 9th at BVN tennis tourney

Free State’s boys tennis team tied for sixth place at the Blue Valley North Invitational on Wednesday, highlighted by Sawyer Nickel’s ninth-place finish in singles and Trey Melvin and Erik Czapinski combining for 11th in doubles.

Nickel won three of his four matches, losing to Shawnee Mission East’s Billy Louiselle in the second round in a tiebreaker. Czapinski and Melvin went 2-2, losing in their first match in the second round.
