Lawrence High sophomore Marian Frick won the 100-yard breaststroke at the Olathe Invitational on Friday, leading the LHS girls swimming team to second place in the team standings.

The Lions finished with 297 points, only behind Shawnee Mission East’s score of 325.5. Free State placed third with 270 points. Frick, along with Jamie Abernathy, Emily Guo and Madi Heckman, took first in the 200 freestyle relay. Guo added a runner-up finish in the 200 individual medley.

For Free State, senior Claire Campbell won in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Campbell, signed to swim at Kansas, won the 200 freestyle by more than four seconds. Ainsley Krug was third in the 100 backstroke.
