To the editor:

I consider myself a typical conservative voter. I want:

• The strongest military in the world
• The very best care for our wounded veterans
• Secure borders
• Food and drugs that are guaranteed safe
• Clean air and water
• Wide, smooth roads and safe bridges
• Effective police, fire, and emergency services
• Plenty of jails and prisons for the bad guys
• World-class education for my kids (I’m sick of our students coming out 16th in the world or whatever)
• Crop insurance and farm subsidies to keep farmers in business and food cheap
• Safe air and rail travel
• Disaster relief in case of tornado, flood, wildfire or whatever
• Medicare and Social Security (now that I’m getting older)
• The ability to hold those responsible for these services accountable on election day
• And, of course, as a conservative, I want small government and lower taxes.
