Free State High’s volleyball team recorded a 4-2 record and took third place at the MOKAN Tournament on Saturday at Lee’s Summit (Mo.) West.

The Firebirds picked up wins against Blue Springs South (23-25, 25-22, 25-20), Battle (25-16, 25-16), Shawnee Mission Northwest (25-17, 25-19) and Bishop Miege (25-20, 25-23), and suffered losses to Lee’s Summit West (25-18, 25-21) and St. James Academy (25-22, 25-22).

Junior Rachel Hickman and sophomore setter Mya Gleason were named to the all-tournament team. Hickman had 19 kills against Blue Springs South while Gleason registered 41 assists.
