Veritas Christian used a balanced offensive attack in its 36-8 win over Marais des Cygnes Valley on Friday.

Quarterback Quinton Donohoe completed 12 of 19 passes for 174 yards two touchdowns, both of which went to Trey Huslig. The Veritas receiver paced the Eagles with 116 receiving yards.

Aaron Evans led the Eagles on the ground with 74 yards and a touchdown.

Next up for Veritas (1-1) will be a road matchup with Manhattan Christian.

Perry-Lecompton’s football team ran for 241 yards Friday and rolled to a 63-8 victory over Hiawatha at home.

Quarterback Dalton Kellum ran for 94 yards and three touchdowns, while Tyler Erickson added 69 yards and Shane Quinlan had 60 yards.

The Kaws (2-0) intercepted four passes, including two that were returned for touchdowns by James Roush and Dawson Williams.

Baldwin High running back Zach Flowers scored a touchdown in the first quarter, but the Bulldogs couldn’t keep up with Paola in a 34-14 loss Friday at Liston Stadium.

Luke Laskowski added a 15-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Ramirez in the fourth quarter, as Baldwin dropped its record to 1-1.
