LHS girls 6th, boys 9th at Manhattan Invite

Lawrence High’s girls cross country team placed sixth at the Manhattan Invitational on Saturday and the boys took ninth in their first meet of the season.

The girls were highlighted by a 23rd-place finish from sophomore Sophie DeWitt in 22:30. Junior Leslie Ostronic followed in 36th place, while Lacey Greenfield took 38th and Layne Prescott placed 39th.

Among the LHS boys, Carson Jumping Eagle was 24th in 18:00 and Cole Shupert took 25th in 18:02.
