Free State sophomore Charlie Johnson won the boys freshman/sophomore division of Olathe East’s cross country Classic Classic on Thursday at Lone Elm Park.

Johnson finished in 13:48, just ahead of Caelen Cordes (third), John Loos (fourth) and Brock Cordova. In the boys junior/senior race, Avant Edwards was third in 13:04, helping the Firebirds win the boys team title.

For the girls, Julia Larkin, Emma Hertig and Anna Riley posted a 2-3-4 finish in the girls junior/senior race. In the freshmen/sophomore division, Erin Fagan was sixth and Erin Stone took seventh.
