Lawrence High alum Woods breaks Baker’s single-game rushing record in win over Central Methodist

Lawrence High alumnus JD Woods broke Baker’s single-game rushing record in the Wildcats’ 49-0 win over over Central Methodist on Saturday at Liston Stadium.

Woods rushed for 313 yards and four touchdowns on 28 carries, and caught three passes for 28 yards.

The Baker defense recorded 10 tackles for a loss to help the Wildcats move to 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference South division standings.

Marco Aguinaga completed 31 of his 37 pass for 233 yards and two touchdowns while stepping in for injured starting quarterback Logan Brettell. Aguinaga’s touchdown passes went to Clarence Clark and Tywonn Moss.

The second-ranked Wildcats will take on Missouri Valley at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Marshall, Mo.
