Drum named Sunflower League’s top forward

Lawrence High senior Skylar Drum was named the Sunflower League’s girls soccer Forward of the Year, announced Wednesday.

Drum, signed to play at Central Missouri, scored a team-best 17 goals in 17 games with five assists, leading the Lions to a 6-10-1 record.

Along with Drum, Lawrence sophomore Anna Chieu was a first-team all-league selection at midfielder.

Free State junior Maya Hodison was a second-team all-league midfielder and Lawrence sophomore Leslie Ostronic was picked as a second-team all-league defender.

Lawrence’s Sofie Christiansen and Maria Duncan, along with Free State’s Molly Bryant and Sydni Beeley, received an honorable mention.
