Firebirds crush Pembroke Hill, 15-2

Two seven-run innings helped Free State High’s baseball team pull away from Pembroke Hill on Friday for a 15-2 victory at FSHS.

The Firebirds, who reached the mercy rule in the fifth inning, had four players drive in at least two runs: Zion Bowlin, Nate Strathman, Dale Miller and Matt Hill.

Daniel Bryant, Jake Baker, Bowlin, David Johnson, Strathman, Hill and Kyle Abrahamson all scored two runs each.

The Firebirds (13-5) will travel to Lawrence High for the City Showdown at 6 p.m. Monday.
