Lawrence High senior Brendan Connor took third place at No. 1 singles in the Emporia Tournament on Tuesday, earning an 8-6 victory over freshman Kanak Masten.

Connor and Masten helped the LHS boys tennis team tie for sixth in its season-opening tournament.
