Help with springtime sprucing

CLO helps individuals with developmental disabilities achieve personally satisfying, fulfilling lifestyles in our community. Many of the CLO homes need their yards spruced up for spring. Individual volunteers and/or volunteer groups are needed to help with the yardwork, including trimming shrubs, laying mulch, planting flowers and cleaning up any trash. Give Harvesters a boost

Harvesters, the community food bank, needs volunteers to assist with Stamp Out Hunger, The National Association of Letter Carriers’ food drive, held on the second Saturday in May each year. It is the largest one-day food drive event in the nation. Volunteers are needed to fold 80,000 grocery bags and supplies for letter carriers to distribute along their routes. By folding each bag, volunteers help increase the food donations from this drive by 35 percent. Volunteers can reserve bags to fold throughout the months of March and April. Contact Harvesters now to reserve your bags and sign up at fighthunger@harvesters.org or 861-7750.
