Lawrence church to celebrate its 154th anniversary this weekend
The Ninth Street Baptist Church will celebrate its 154th anniversary this weekend. Observations to mark the occasion will be held from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday with a dinner, games and fellowship at the church, which is located near the corner of Ninth and Ohio streets.
The celebration will continue with two services Sunday. During the 10:45 a.m. service, Ninth Street Baptist Church Pastor Eric Galbreath will welcome to the pulpit Lawrence Victory Bible Church Pastor Leo Barbee Jr. At the 3 p.m. service, the Rev. Delmar White of New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Topeka will help the congregation celebrate its anniversary.
