Kansas softball takes two wins

Freshman Madison Sykes hit a walk-off three-run home run, and Kansas’ softball team rallied past Southeast Missouri State, 6-5, on Sunday at Arrocha Ballpark.

KU defeated Omaha, 12-4, for its second win of the day. Lily Behrmann and Erin McGinley homered for KU, which erased an early 3-0 deficit with a six-run first inning.

The Jayhawks trailed Southeast Missouri 4-0 entering the bottom of the fifth, but they scored once in the fifth, twice in the sixth and three times in the seventh. Sykes, senior Lily Behrmann and junior Jessie Roane each had two hits.

Kansas (18-11) will play at SIU-Edwardsville on Wednesday.
