Kansas baseball falls to TCU, 5-1

TCU starter Jared Janczak retired Kansas’ first 22 batters in a 5-1 victory over the Jayhawks on Saturday night at Fort Worth, Texas.

TCU (15-4 overall, 2-0 Big 12), broke a scoreless tie with five runs in the seventh inning. KU (8-10, 0-2), didn’t reach base until a fielding error with one out in the eighth.

“Janczak was special tonight, there is no doubt about it,” KU coach Ritch Price said. “I think the last time I saw a performance like that was my first year at Kansas when we faced a really good Baylor rotation.”

The Jayhawks and the Horned Frogs conclude the series at 1 p.m. today.
