The Open Pavilion at the Douglas County Fairgrounds awaits only final inspections before it is ready for use. County officials say it is already booked for the first four weekends in May and are optimistic it and other facilities at the fairgrounds will be in demand. Sarah Plinsky doesn’t anticipate difficulty renting the two new facilities that will be completed in the coming weeks at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. “I don’t know if we are even going to have to market it,” the assistant Douglas County administrator said. “Weekend rentals at the fairgrounds generally fill up. These facilities tend to sell themselves.”
