Free State’s Junge places 9th at Kansas Junior Amateur

Former Free State High golfer Jack Junge tied for ninth place at the Kansas Junior Amateur Championship on Thursday.

Junge shot an eight-over-par 218 in the three-day tournament at Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson, only four strokes behind champion Jacob Lackey.

In the final round Thursday, Junge carded a 69, which included two birdies and one bogey. He fired a 74 on the first day and followed with a 75.
