Lawrence High senior kicker Cole Brungardt will join the Kansas football team as a preferred walk-on next season, he announced via Twitter on Sunday afternoon.

Brungardt earned all-Sunflower League honors for the past two seasons with booming kickoffs (24 touchbacks). He made a pair of field goals last year with a long of 37 yards.
