Lawrence High track coach Jack Hood was honored as the Class 6A boys track Coach of the Year on Saturday.

Hood was selected for the award from the Kansas Cross Country Track and Field Coaches Association. He led the Lions to second place at state last year, only two points behind champion Shawnee Mission North. Lawrence also placed second at regionals and the Sunflower League.
