Senior Tess Bernard-Feigenbaum claimed a pair of victories to help 14th-ranked Kansas defeat No. 33 UNLV, 4-1, on Friday in Las Vegas.

At No. 1 doubles, Bernard-Feigenbaum and Nina Khmelnitckaia defeated UNLV’s En-Pei Huang and Aiwen Zhu, 6-4, as KU won the doubles point. The duo is now 10-1 in spring play with a 16-4 record.

Bernard-Feigenbaum then defeated Zhu at the No. 2 singles spot, 6-0, 7-6 (4).

Anastasia Rychagova and Maria Toran Ribes teamed up at No. 3 doubles to defeat Paola Artiga and Anna Bogoslavets, 6-1. Toran Ribes earned the match-clinching win at No. 5 singles, defeating Huang, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. Janet Koch defeated Bogoslavets at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-1.

“(Friday) was a solid team win,” KU coach Todd Chapman said. “UNLV is a good team and put us in multiple adverse situations. I thought the team did a really good job responding in those situations and never quit competing. We have a short time to recover before facing another quality opponent in Tennessee.”

The Jayhawks will face No. 24 Tennessee at noon today in Las Vegas.
