Lawrence High senior wrestler Santino Gee advanced to the Class 6A state championship at 170 pounds Friday, winning his first three matches at the state tournament at Hartman Arena.

Gee, who won his first match by forfeit, beat Free State junior Gage Foster in sudden victory in the quarterfinals and pinned Blue Valley West’s Aaron Davis in the semifinals. He will face Olathe South’s Nick Jouret in the title match tonight.

Free State junior Tate Steele (138 pounds) and Lawrence High senior Tucker Wilson (182) lost in their state semifinal matches.

The state tournament will continue at 9 a.m. today.
