Veritas boys open state tourney with 57-38 win

In the first round of the KCAA state tournament Thursday, Veritas Christian’s boys basketball team raced to a 20-point lead in the first quarter of an eventual 57-38 victory over Wichita Home School at Haskell Indian Nations University.

Veritas sophomore Tucker Flory led with 21 points, six rebounds and six steals. Weston Flory added 10 points, Trey Huslig scored nine and Kammal Dowdell scored seven.

The Eagles (9-15) will play in the KCAA semifinals at 8 p.m. today.
