Free State High junior wrestler Gage Foster won a regional title at 170 pounds Saturday, leading the Firebirds to seventh place in the team standings at Hutchinson.

Foster, who won a regional title last year, improved his record to 25-5. Junior Tate Steele placed second at 138 pounds, losing his first match of the season in the championship by a 5-2 decision.

The Firebirds qualified 10 wrestlers for next week’s Class 6A state tournament.
