Elijah Jacobs took first place in the 145-pound weight class and Free State’s wrestling team finished third at the Cougar Invitational on Saturday at Shawnee Mission Northwest.

Jacobs, a junior, won by a 1-0 decision in the championship against Derby’s Crew Squires. Free State junior Devin Beers was runner-up at 182 pounds while Lou Fincher (106 pounds), Joey Eddis (160) and Elijah Denmark (195) took third in their weight classes.
