Veritas Christian’s baseball team nearly rallied from a nine-run deficit Monday, but it was too much ground to make up in a 13-9 loss to Bonner Springs at Orlis Cox Sports Complex in Ottawa.

After trailing 10-1, the Eagles (5-5) had a six-run fifth inning and followed with a two-run sixth inning. But Bonner Springs added three insurance runs in the top of the seventh.

Jackson Rau and Tucker Flory had 2 RBIs each for Veritas.
