Free State’s girls swimming and diving team only won three events Thursday, but showed off its depth by edging runner-up Lawrence High at the FSHS triangular.

The Firebirds won with 244.5 points, only 10.5 points ahead of LHS. Kasey Dunn (100 fly), Claire Campbell (500 free) and Janet Stefanov (100 back) won individual events.

Lawrence won nine events, including all three relays, with first-place finishes from Morgan Jones (200 free), Emily Guo (200 IM, 100 free), Marian Frick (50 free, 100 breast) and Eden Kingery (diving).
