FSHS doubles pairings unbeaten at FSHS tourney until rain

Due to inclement weather, the Lawrence Invitational was ultimately cut short Friday at Rock Chalk Park. The tournament will not be resumed at any point this season.

Before mother nature interfered, Free State’s boys tennis team had swept Shawnee Mission South in pool play, while recording a pair of doubles victories over Olathe Northwest. Meanwhile, LHS claimed just two victories — both in singles — over Shawnee Mission West.

For the Lions, Brendan Conner and Cooper Wright each split their matches on the singles side. Sawyer Nickel and Jack Kelsey did the same for the Firebirds. FSHS went undefeated in four matches on the doubles side via Erik Czapinksi and Cooper Rasmussen, along with Carlos Pascual and Trey Melvin.
