Powered behind nine hits, Free State’s softball team scored four runs apiece in the fourth and fifth innings, earning a 12-2 run-ruled victory over Leavenworth on Tuesday at Sports Field.

Emma Stanwix, Grace Patchen and Jenalee Dickson all recorded multiple hits for the Firebirds, who improved to 4-2 in the Sunflower League.

The Firebirds (5-4) will face Washburn Rural and Blue Valley on Thursday in Shawnee.
