The United Way of Douglas County brings community resources together to support a better life for residents by focusing on improvements in health, education and financial stability. Come join the United Way during the Day of Action on June 14 by assisting with an ice cream social with some of our community’s senior residents. Volunteers are needed to help set up supplies, serve ice cream and cupcakes, and clean up after the event. This is a great volunteer opportunity for families with young children, scout troops, 4-H clubs, school groups, and individuals who enjoy socializing. One social will be at Babcock Place, 1700 Massachusetts St., at 11 a.m. A second social will be at The Windsor, 3220 Peterson Road, at 2 p.m. Sign up to volunteer at volunteerdouglascounty.org. For more information, please contact Felecia Cunningham at uwcamp@unitedwaydgco.org or at 843-6626, ext. 340.
