Free State girls swimming team finishes in first place

The Free State girl swimming and diving team won just three of the 12 events, but still cruised to a first-place finish at the 10-team Topeka Invitational Thursday.

Claire Campbell clinched victories in the 200 and 100 freestyle. She also served as the first leg of the winning relay team of Ava Cormaney, Piper Rogers, and Charlotte Crandall, which took first in the 200 free relay. The Firebirds have now won consecutive meets.

FSHS will travel to the Olathe Invite at 5 p.m. Friday.
