The Lawrence chamber of commerce on Friday alerted members to a potential scam involving calls seeking updated business information.

The caller identified herself as “The Chamber.”

The Chamber is not seeking updated information from businesses over the phone.

“We are not calling for that information,” The Chamber said in a news release. “Chamber employees will identify themselves over the phone and will not ask for updated business information. Businesses can update this information online.”
