Salina ? Free State High senior Andrea Chen and junior Ali Dodd combined in doubles to place third at the Salina Central Invitational on Saturday, finishing with a 4-1 record.

Chen and Dodd lost, 8-6, in the semifinals before winning, 8-2, in the third-place match.

Along with the top doubles tandem, Free State sophomore Kate Piper took sixth in singles with a 3-2 record and Andie Veeder placed 25th. Free State’s doubles team of Gabby Gorman and Anna Peard was 15th with a 2-3 record.

The Firebirds will compete in the Gardner-Edgerton tournament at 9 a.m. today.
