FSHS volleyball splits at Seaman
Topeka ? Free State High’s volleyball team split matches in its season-opening triangular Thursday at Topeka Seaman, defeating Seaman and losing to Lansing.
In the loss against Lansing, 19-25, 25-21, 25-15, Naomi Hickman led with nine kills and two blocks, while Emma Barberena added 18 digs.
The Firebirds beat Seaman, 25-15, 25-22, with five kills apiece from Cameryn Thomas and Payton Gannaway.
Free State (1-1, ranked No. 9 in 6A) will play in its home quadrangular on Sept. 8.
