The preseason buzz surrounding the Kansas basketball team grew Thursday afternoon with the unveiling of the Big 12 coach’s All-Big 12 preseason honors.

The Jayhawks’ starting back court of junior Devonté Graham and senior Frank Mason III both appeared on the first team, while wing Josh Jackson was named preseason freshman of the year in the conference.

Named preseason Big 12 Player of the Year, senior Iowa State guard Monté Morris joined Graham and Mason on the first team, along with Baylor junior forward Johnathan Motley and Oklahoma State sophomore guard Jawun Evans.

The coaches awarded junior Baylor guard Manu Lecomte as preseason Newcomer of the Year.

Incoming freshman Jackson also picked up the distinction of making All-Big 12 honorable mention, joined on that list by Oklahoma’s Jordan Woodard, Texas’s Jarrett Allen and the West Virginia duo of Jevon Carter and Daxter Miles Jr.
