Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Prairie Park Nature Center is looking for volunteers for its annual Halloween event.

The Halloween Trick-or-Treat Event will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 30 at the nature center, 2730 Harper St. The theme of the event is the enchanted forest. Volunteers are needed to take admission, serve refreshments and paint faces, as well as be in costume around the trail at Mary’s Lake.

Volunteers are requested to help from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The nature center has a limited number of costumes available for those volunteering to be along the trail, but some may need to provide their own. Once individuals have signed up, nature center staff will contact them to arrange details.

Volunteers need to be at least 16 years old or have a parent or guardian volunteering with them.

To volunteer or for more information, individuals may contact Andrea Woody at Prairie Park Nature Center at 832-7980. Sign up can also be completed online.
