Armed robbery reported Thanksgiving day

The latest in a string of armed robberies in Lawrence occurred Thanksgiving day.

About 3:30 p.m. Thursday, officers were called to the 1800 block of West Sixth Street for a reported armed robbery. Fourteen officers responded to the scene, according to Lawrence police department call logs.

Police did not respond to a request for more details on the incident. As of Friday evening, no arrests in the Douglas County booking logs correspond with the crime.

This is the second armed robbery in the past week. On Nov. 19, two men robbed a gas station in north Lawrence at gunpoint. No arrests have been made in that incident.

Last month, three armed robberies were reported in the span of a week, after which several arrests were made.
