Women’s center at KU hosting opportunity to talk about election results

Supporters of Hillary Clinton, left, and Donald Trump, right, watch presidential election results, Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016.

Talk it out.

The Emily Taylor Center for Women & Gender Equity at the University of Kansas is planning an open discussion on Thursday to talk about the results of this year’s presidential election “from a gendered perspective,” center director Kathy Rose-Mockry said.

“Let’s Talk About it: Gender and the Election Outcome” is set for noon to 1 p.m. Thursday in the Kansas Room at the Kansas Union.

The event is envisioned to be a “safe space” for processing the results of the 2016 presidential election.

“It’s important that people have opportunities to work through whatever is to come, because it’s been a unique election that’s really stirred up a lot of issues that need to be addressed,” Rose-Mockry said.
