KU Crime Blotter: Week of May 2 through May 8

The following incidents were reported to the Kansas University Office of Public Safety between Monday, May 2, and Sunday, May 8. Incidents are listed by the dates they were reported.

May 7

• An assault occurred about 2:45 a.m. May 7 at GSP Hall. The suspect punched another person in the face multiple times. The suspect was not located.

• Someone cut a lock and took a bicycle from the rack at Templin Hall between April 7 and May 7. Loss was valued at $225.

May 6

• Someone entered a room without permission and stole prescription pills at Watkins Scholarship Hall between May 3 and May 6. Loss was valued at $50.

• Someone threw a bottle at a window about 2 a.m. May 6 at Rieger Scholarship Hall. Damage was estimated at $250.

• Police found multiple subjects in possession of alcohol, a fake driver’s license and drug paraphernalia about 3 a.m. May 6 in Lot 112, 1800 block Naismith Drive. At least one person was arrested.

• Someone removed a deadbolt lock and tore off a door handle May 3 or May 4 in Lot 91, 1300 block of Mississippi Street. Loss was valued at $50. Damage was estimated at $50.

• A domestic battery assault was reported about 1:30 a.m. May 6. The location was not listed. During an argument, the suspect grabbed the victim and shook her. The suspect was arrested.

May 5

• Someone entered a vehicle, moved items around and damaged the windshield May 4 or May 5 in Lot 111, 500 block of West 11th Street. Damage was estimated at $300.

• Someone took a lost or mislaid debit card May 5 at the Kansas Union.

May 4

• Someone stole a passport from inside the passport-holder’s vehicle in Lot 109, 1600 block of West 15th Street between April 5 and April 30. Loss was valued at $50.

• Someone removed a sidewalk sign at Lippincott Hall between May 2 and May 4. Loss was valued at $200.

May 3

• Someone graffitied one of the firearms-prohibited signs May 3 at Murphy Hall. Damages were estimated at $50.

May 2

• Police found someone in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia about 12:45 a.m. May 2 in Lot 112, 1800 block of Naismith Drive. The suspect was arrested.
