Overland Park — Free State High’s boys golf team took seventh place and Lawrence High finished eighth Thursday at the Olathe East Invitational at St. Andrews Golf Course.

Jack Flynn led the Firebirds with a score of 80, good for a tie for 16th.

Other Free State scores: Tate Steele, 82, tied for 21st; Landon Berquist, 82, tied for 21st; Jack Junge, 85, tied for 34th; Bailey Pfannenstiel, 87, tied for 42nd; and Edin Mehmedovic, 92, tied for 54th.

Cole Brungardt was the top finisher for the Lions with an 81, good for a tie for 19th.

Other Lawrence scores: Dawson Dykes, 82, tied for 21st; Garrett Wildeman, 85, tied for 34th; Ross Brungardt, 88, tied for 47; Thomas Taber, 89, 50th; and Joe Mandigo, 97, 60th.

Shawnee Mission Northwest won the tournament with a score of 294, followed by Blue Valley North (307) and Olathe East (316).
