Kansas baseball blanks North Dakota

Senior left-hander Ben Krauth pitched a complete-game shutout as Kansas University’s baseball team blanked North Dakota, 7-0, Friday afternoon at Hoglund Ballpark.

Krauth (1-2) hit and then picked off the first batter of the game. After that, he dominated. He cruised through nine innings in 112 pitches, tying a career-high with nine strikeouts.

The Jayhawks managed 11 base hits, with freshman left fielder Devin Foyle (2-for-4), sophomore designated hitter TJ Martin (2-for-2) and senior outfielder Joe Moroney (3-for-4) having multiple-hit games. Martin and sophomore shortstop Matt McLaughlin did most of the damage, driving in two runs each.

Kansas will play Saint Louis at 3 p.m. today at Hoglund Ballpark.
