KU Crime Blotter: Week of Feb. 29 through March 6

The following incidents were reported to the Kansas University Office of Public Safety between Monday, Feb. 29, and Sunday, March 6. Incidents are listed by the dates they were reported.

March 5

• Someone painted graffiti on the wall in the stairwell and door of Anschutz Library between the evening of March 4 and early-morning hours of March 5. Damage was estimated at $300.

• Someone painted graffiti on the wall in a stairwell of Wescoe Hall between the evening of March 4 and early-morning hours of March 5. Damage was estimated at $150.

• Someone took a wallet that had been lost March 5 at Oswald Hall and did not turn it in. Loss was valued at $50.

March 4

• Someone spray painted graffiti at Malott Hall between Feb. 17 and March 4. Damage was estimated at $300.

• Police found someone in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia — specifically a pipe and a grinder — about 11:15 p.m. March 4 at Oliver Hall. The suspect was arrested.

• Someone scratched the side of a 2016 Toyota Camry March 3 or March 4 in Lot 300, 1600 block of Stewart Drive. Damage was estimated at $500.

March 2

• Someone took two people’s wallets from a locker at Ambler Student Recreation Center on March 2. Loss was valued at $38.

• Someone took a lawn chair and an Ameristep hunting blind from the drainage ditch at the Structural Testing and Student Projects Facility on West Campus, between Feb. 29 and March 1. Loss was valued at $69.

• Someone stole a bicycle and lock from a bike rack at Sellards Scholarship Hall, between Feb. 29 and March 2. Loss was valued at $830.

• Someone cut a lock and removed a bicycle from the bike rack at Lindley Hall on March 2. Loss was valued at $520.

Feb. 29

• Someone took two financial cards Feb. 26 from an unsecured office in McCollum Laboratories on West Campus.

• Someone removed an ice maker from its perch, damaging it, between Feb. 26 and Feb. 28 at Wescoe Hall. Loss was valued at $2,000.

Feb. 28

• Someone took two debit cards and $430 cash from another person’s wallet, left unattended at Malott Hall Feb. 28.

Feb. 27

• Police arrested someone on a failure-to-appear warrant and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia at 8:05 p.m. in the 500 block of W. 11th St.
