A car pulling a trailer with an off-road vehicle rolled near the west Lawrence turnpike exit around 3 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016, injuring the driver of the car.

Eastbound traffic was slowed along Interstate 70 between the Lecompton and Lawrence exits while police responded to a one-vehicle crash shortly after 3 p.m. Friday.

According to an accident report from the Kansas Turnpike Authority, the driver, Roy M. Bender, 58, of Harveyville, was eastbound on I-70 when he lost control of the car, a 2010 Hyundai Elantra, and drove off the road. The car overturned and came to rest on its side.

Bender was transported for medical treatment, according to the report.

Eastbound traffic slowed for the mile leading up to the crash site as police were on scene.

Further information was not immediately available.
