Topeka ? Lawrence High’s girls basketball team nearly fought back from a double-digit deficit in the final minutes, but lost, 51-49, against eighth-ranked Wichita Heights in the Capital City Classic semifinals Friday at Topeka Seaman.

Junior Skylar Drum led the Lions (5-7) with 14 points, while Chisom Ajekwu scored 13 points and Olivia Lemus 11.

The Lions will play Seaman (2-10) in the third-place game at 12:30 p.m. today.
